Calvert County strives to keep prescription medication from falling into the wrong hands. Dispose of your unused and expired medications at the above listed locations. . Local law enforcement will be on hand at the community centers to collect your medications and CAASA Volunteers will provide FREE Deterra drug disposal packets (three per family) while supplies last and prevention information. Calvert Behavioral Health will offer Naloxone training and syringe disposal at Northeast and Southern Community Centers. Those who complete the NARCAN training will receive a FREE Narcan Kit.
Medications taken to the Sheriff’s Office and Maryland State Police can be deposited in the drop boxes located at the entrance of their offices.
*We cannot accept Sharps containers at these locations. These items can be disposed of at the Sheriff’s Office Needle Drop Box (30 Church Street, Prince Frederick) or at the County’s Solid Waste Customer Convenience Centers (look for the marked 55 gallon drums).
Remember to remove or cover personal and RX information on the containers.
