The beach areas at Long Beach are some of the most spectacular of Maryland’s western shore. In addition to outstanding views, this part of the Chesapeake Bay boasts a boaters’ paradise and access to some of the best fishing spots. Calvert Cliffs provides beach goers with a trove of fossil finds. Our beaches are private, and they abut the private roads in our community. Only the property owners, their guests and tenants have the right to pass on these roads and enjoy our beaches. The LBCA reserves the right to press trespassing charges on individuals who attempt to utilize our beaches and private roads if they are not a property owner, guest or tenants.

All property owners of Long Beach and their guests have access to the beaches. Beaches are accessibly by foot or automobile if guests and/or beach gear is dropped and picked up.

Our private beaches are owned by the LBCA

All property owners of Long Beach and their guests have access to the beaches. Beaches are accessibly by foot or automobile if guests and/or beach gear is dropped and picked up. If the property owner chooses to park in one of the beach parking lots, they must display a parking pass (hang tags with current year sticker) that should hang from their rear-view mirror and visible through the windshield. Parking passes are a benefit of membership; the property owner must be a full member of the LBCA in order to purchases the beach passes. Membership in the LBCA is voluntary and is offered as an option on the annual Road Fee invoice to include payment for membership with the Road Fees.

The South Beach

Also referred to as the “Little Beach”, is located at the end of Long Beach Drive.  This small beach is a favorite gathering place of the neighborhood. A parking lot guard monitors whether the cars display a parking pass. Cars that park in the beach parking lot may or may not receive a warning before their car is towed.

The North beach

Our “Big Beach” is accessible at the end of Flag Harbor Blvd just passed the Flag Harbor Marina.  There is an unpaved parking lot for beach access, picnic tables and a volley ball net, porta-potties and large trash cans. During the summer months access to this beach is controlled by a gate guard. If the tide is low, visitors to this beach can walk all the way up to Kenwood Beach and Governors Harbor.
